dolores um-bitch...eh bridge

Fans of Harry Potter will recognize te above pic easily. That is Dolores Umbridge, the mean headmistress of Hogwarts School of Wizardry (i love how complicated it sounds. Wee-Zard-A-Ree. hehe..). And if you watched Harry Potter & The Order of Phoenix, you'd know that she is one evil, selfish, hypocryte down-to-very-core headmistress that any innocent student can ask for. Well, the reason why her pic is here in my blog is because I have my very own Dolores Umbridge here in the section. But in my case, it is more profound to change it to Dolores Um-bitch. She fits the description well. Senior in age, berlagak tau semua benda, provoking in a very bad way tht even our bosses were intimidated by her. Boleh tak? Aku pn dah confuse siapa sebenarnye yg boss. Eventhough I am still and Executive and not yet at a managerial level, I am still an officer to her okk. By position, she was downright just a Non-Executive but at a supervisory level since dia gile lama bertapa kat situ. By position also, I have the damned right to instruct/give orders/control/demand her to do stuff (work-related of course , unless aku nak bersifat kejam and suruh dia turun bawah & belikan lunch utk aku). But since I have a lot of respect for the elders and tak amik port pn pasal pangkat & darjat & whatnot, I can just disregard this issue. I am somewhat confused by this relationship between us the young ones and the veterans here in the office. There always seems to be something that they are not happy about us. From the way we walk, talk, dress up and even the way we perform our prayers. Which is way beyond ridiculous! Apakah kau nk tegur org pasal semayang siap nk tutup2 mata?. Just let her be lah. If she wants to correct something that is totally wrong like sembahyang laju sgt ke, rukuk tak cukup toma'ninah ke, lain la kan. The way I see it, it was completely irrelevant. If tht person can acquire kekhusyukkan solat dgn memejamkan mata, biar lah kan. (Dah agaknye kau pun sibuk buat bising2 kat bilik sembahyang tu sampai org lain terpaksa tutup mata sbb nk concentrate, whose fault is it then?) Owh c'mon Um-bitch. Isn't there anything better for you to do? I was once "di tegur" just because I sat on my friend's cubicle desk. She said, "Ey, masa office hour mana boleh duduk atas meja. Kalau nak buat, kene tunggu after office hour". And what was more irritating was that she said that from quite afar. Like she wanted the whole world to know. From the start, she has already showed that she just wanted to humiliate me. Dari aku tertonggeng2 nak tengok data from the pc, in which will display a more provocative position, it was better to sit. And as expected, I was freaking pissed off at that time. So I said to her, "Asal lak tak boleh? Ada dalam Code of Conduct ke cakap x boleh duduk atas meja? Saya tgk org lain duduk, boleh je". Sambil menjegilkan my already-big eyes to her. That Um-bitch was stunned. And she muttered something like "tak manis lah, hape lah".. And then she kept quiet. And i continued sitting there. Taking in the satisfaction of seeing her stunned expression. Aah, it was priceless.

surprise, surprise
I cannot believe that my final year project supervisor who is also my lecturer for the super-cool Visualization subject dulu, actually left a comment on my blog!!! (Refer to entry viva la vida). He stumbled upon this humble virtual place of mine on the web.
Hey Laz, just in case if you come back to read my blog, it was a really pleasant surprise to hear from you again :) I hope we can keep in touch and you'll be the world's most awesome dad to your little baby girl!!
Happy Friday to all!!
This made me wonder if he read some of the stuff that i wrote about the Modelling project and also something about him. Alamak dah la aku penah tulis yang dia kacak dulu in of the entries... Let's just hope that he didnt. Hmmm...

hellllooooo sexxayyyyy...

Arent this sexy lil' thang, just wonderful to look at?..... I waaaaaannnttttttttttttttttt..... It does display quite a resemblance to the Greek-inspired studded heels that Carrie wears in SATC the movie - sekali pandang laa kan.. hehe... But these heels are such a beauty!

It's irreverent!!!!! The I'd-never-have-a-bad-day-as-long-as-I-wear-you heels!!!

AAAAAAAAAaaaaa... I can marry the heels. (Heels? Will you marry me? I promise I'll make you very happy..)

Anyone feels generous enough to donate RM109 for the above shoes for me? :D

ulat buku

Yes I am a bookworm. I like to read. Ok besides funky wedges and sexy stilettos, I do invest profoundly in books. Still don’t believe it? I know you know that I religiously read Female and the likes of them vanity mags but I do fancy real books. I have the whole Sidney Sheldon collection. Not forgetting Judith McNaught for her creativity in romance-writing. Oh I love all of Sheldon’s books. Genius. I can reread his books over and over again…which I have done countless of times. Ngeee.. my first Sheldon book was Windmill of the Gods which I borrowed from a friend of mine back in high school. It was a hard-cover. So bayangkan, ke hulu, ke hilir usung buku besar dan berat itu. But I like hard-covers. Walaupun gabak but tahan lasak. And tulisan dia besar2.. I like!I also love, love, loove all the Harry Potter books. Well, what can I say. I adore stories of adventures full of myth, fantasy and magic. When these are combined into one, it’s awesome beyond imagination. Like the movie, Stardust, I can watch it over and over again. Remember the famous lines in the movie? “..My heart... It feels like my chest can barely contain it. Like it's trying to escape because it doesn't belong to me anymore. It belongs to you. And if you wanted it, I'd wish for nothing in exchange - no gifts. No goods. No demonstrations of devotion. Nothing but knowing you loved me too. Just your heart, in exchange for mine.” Aaah.. Feel like watching it again this weekend. I don't know why I enjoy stories with elements of political conspiracies, thriller, action, murders and mysteries. Hence, that explains why I would have easily selected "Da Vincci Code","Vantage Point","Die Hard 4" over any chick flicks for both movies and the books. A few weeks back I bought James Rollins' Judas Strain. Oooo I love every bit of the storyline. My peneman setia while I was on the komuter back to Rawang. It was really good that the whole 45 mins journey didnt feel as bad as how it looks (with the countless pendatang, most of them busuk & pervets - I didnt mean to generalize but they are!!)

this explains how I spent my Sundays - a good book, and Nini (cokelat celup..celup, celup, celup..hahaha) And that was my father's Harakah (also part of my reading material)

He didn’t really layan Harry Potter but sweet enough to give me the book - “The half-Blood Prince”. That was his first book for me. And I foresee there will be more to come. Hehehe.. just the other day, he wanted to give me something, a present before he left for the far-far away land. (And I thought presents are only for certain joyful occasions or big festive celebrations). That’s him, being sweet and thoughtful as always. At first, I thought I am gonna get stuff like shoes or maybe something from Benefits. Since lately I have been talking a lot about how nice it’d be if I have comfy shoes when I’m running to catch the komuter. Like the wedges from Crocs maybe. But they are not here yet so I was just talking pointlessly at that time. And I am just plain crazy about Benefits. Surprise, surprise… we ended up at Kinokuniya and he told me to choose any one of my favourite book. Yeay!!! I’m gonna get a book rupa2 nya. Weeee.. I really am looking forward to get a new book since I have finished reading the last one that I bought. So there I was, like a kid in a candy store trying very hard to decide on which lucky book I’d pick. I wanted to get Harry Potter’s Deathly Hollows but I already found its pdf verdion on the net (save $$$. Ka-ching!!). Baik amik buku lain ye tak… the process of deciding, reading the synopsis, judging the covers and weighing the author’s ranking did take some time. Since I am such a sucker for thriller, conspiracies and mysteries (hence the Sidney Sheldon’s collection) so in the end I chose Matthew Reilly’s The 6 Sacred Stones.

tadaaaaa!! My new Sunday's project. Can't hardly wait :)

I am thinking of buying like a new cupboard or new funky rack for my books. Because at this moment I have 2 overflowing items in my room - shoes & books. I surveyed Ikea and they do have a few nice ones. But not sure on the size since my room wasnt tht big. Hmmm...

serabut & bersepah

Malaysia is going through an interesting political phase. Serabut mungkin? As the end result is yet to be known, I must say it is pretty scary at this moment. Let's just hope whatever happens in the end is for the good of all of us.
Moving on to lighter note, I need (READ: am desperate) to clean up, rearrange and revamp my cubicle. I can get sick just by looking at it. Too many files on the table. Too many papers. Too many post-it-notes. Too many, too many.. I miss the times when I used to own a cool bedroom back in the OZ days where I decorated it in style (READ: fun with many cute/crazy and creative artsy stuff on the wall plus a corner for my aroma theraphy things plus books and flowers). Sigh. Dahla ada built-in wardrobe okkkkk..Anddd not forgetting a bathtub! And also a swimming pool which will be heated during winter. Owh rindu nya! Anyhow, my cube is swamped and I need a major overhaul. And it's not helping la kan that some makcikens yg suka menyibuk suruh aku kemas tempat aku tuh. Huh. As usual, like they have nothing better to do. My cube is all primp and proper okkkk before this hectic schedule started to take over my life. Takpe2. Lepas aku kemas, siap kau makcikens!

my untidy cube

the unwanted view of the files but wanted for the sake of work

very very unattractive..ewgh

ya ampun.. gile bersepah

guess what are being spread out on the floor underneath my cube?

....my lovelies!!
I might have to go the office and do some spring-cleaning this weekend. Maybe baby. Hmmm......

viva la vida
Apart from the political turmoil, crazy increase in petrol price, erratic weather, and annoying bosses/colleagues, please listen to Coldplay's latest album. Worth every worry, stress or trouble that you're currently facing.

Let's get high on good music :)

the BIG two-five... (part i)

i got to celebrate this special day (waaay in advance) with this certain special someone.Woott!! I'd say it was a celebration of pure joy, full of love and hard-rockin' tunes. Why? We went to watch Butterfingers performed at the Zouk.(Note to Raf: kitorang pegi sbb nk temankan kau tau. Sweeet taaak?) I'm not really an avid fan of this hugely talented band. But yeah, there were some Butter's songs that I like to listen to.One of the earlier songs that I used to listen to was Malayneum.Unique. Ok back to my birthday story.I stayed overnight at my hot Egyptian gf's house the night before along with my 2 other girlfriends. We did the usual all girls' nite in thing.Cook, eat, gossiping while watching movies(that had hot dudes in it for us to oggle over. Best option: 300. Ngeee..). After a night full of laughter, juicy gossips and good food,he picked me up from The Ascott the next day and we headed straight to KLCC. Kerja di KLCC, takkan sambut birthday pun kat KLCC jugak?Mula2,apakahhh jugak laaa kann.. BUT, when you're celebrating with a certain special someone (ahem), everything else didnt seem to matter (cewaaah..). Lagipun, we were going to watch Butters afterwards.Dekat :D. Rock chicasnye sungguh.Mungkin one fine day when I get married, I'll have some rock band perform for my reception.Mwahaha.. Tht'd be interesting. Anyway,I like the way my birthday was celebrated this year.Since I'm the type of person who adores pleasantly-unusual & non-typical surprises,I just loved every minute of it. And everything, just fit perfectly the way imagined how it'd happen. Terimalah,gambar2 di bawah :)

Uninspired

Back when I was a university student, I used to have a lot of ideas to write in this blog. A lot. I always could get the inspiration that I want anywhere, anytime. Inspiration from Mother Nature, people around me, my observation, my life, almost ANYTHING. When I read my old entries, I was quite amazed on my capacity to ponder on things that revolved around me and later put in words (I could be easily inspired by a petty accident at a bustop and then rushed back home to write about it). Didn’t matter whether I was writing an emotionally-charged entry or just updating the daily little tasks back then in Down Under. I could just write and let my thoughts flow. But now, I find it hard to find the inspiration and start writing as frequently as I can. Is it because of my work? Or the lack of accessibility to technology? Sometimes, when the inspiration came, I was at home, without a pc and internet (yes, I’ve been living quite a technology-less life nowadays) or when something interesting struck my mind, either I was mentally tired to wittily write about it or I was bogged down with some crucial work. Ergh..!!

I miss writing :(

Inspiration, please find your way home & come back to me......

hey ya'll!!

People might think that I was burying my head (too deep) into my never-ending piles of work that I have no time for other things in life. Well, I did bury my head, BUT I still manage to indulge in life's little luxuries.Heh. I tried the Fish Spa the other day with Sha at The Pavillion. It was ticklissshhh as hell. But relaxing and funny and cute at the same time. Just imagine having these mini-sized creatures nibbling away your dead skin cells from your feet. The moment I dipped my feet in the pool, we were attacked by the hungry so-called "Doctor Fish". Me and Sha terus tergelak cam kena poke or geletek mercilessly ala-ala kaki tgn kena ingat sumer.Haha.. We went there early so, so I reckon the fish were feasting on their "breakfast"(our feet).

the fish, enjoying their "yummy" breakfast

We headed to ZEN by Secret Recipe for brunch afterwards.I like the place. Very much alike Secret Recipe but the concept is more of a semi-fine dining eatery. On top of that, it offers more variety too! :) And the dessert? Rambang mata. They don't only have the usual, famous Secret Recipe cakes but also mouth-watering delicacies such as Triffle, Tiramisu, pastries and those lil' cute cakes/pudding displayed in a very inviting presentation. Here's a sneak preview of my strawberry triffle. Mind you, it's very very rich, thick and creamy. Sinful! But worth every bite of it.Hehe.

layers of fat ready to invade my body

Last Sunday was a total alumni day. I had my university luncheon at Shangri La and later, Petrosains Dinner at Bora Ombak. Alumni gathering is meant for us to catch up with our classmates/friends after years of working and forgetting to contact each other. I miss UQ. University of Queensland is the place to be!(promote! promote!) Hehe. But yeah, I really miss the good old times back in uni. Where life was only about trying, experiencing & enjoying things that matter. Sure we all worried once in a while about the never-ending asisgments, exams, group projects (annoying & lazy groupmates) and studying. But we always know how to have fun back in those days. There was always a way.Even with our limited student's budget & holes on our pockets.Aaah.. I was so lucky to have the chance to study there and experienced my uni days in a foreign land where people were highly civic-minded, open (you could walk barefoot & nobody will give a damn abt it), friendly (Malaysians are friendly too but only to tourists!). Initially I was a bit nervous to turn up for this UQ event knowing that only 4 of us would be coming (my batch & ppl that I knew). True enough, when I arrived (was fashionably late as usual), the crowd was made up of mostly the elderly people. Yang graduated 10-30 years ago! We were the youngest ppl there. Kinda awakward la jugak, like how do you converse casually with people of your parents' age (mungkin lagi tua.my parents are still young :)), yang dah waaaay established (Datuks, Datins, succesfull entrepeneurs, politicians etc etc). If they were my bosses, takdela awkward mana pon kan. I could always cook up something about The Company's latest issues ke ape ke kan. Since we didn't have anything in common except for the fact that we studied at the same uni, takkan nk ckap pasal weather pulak kan.Friendly lebih2, derang ingat aku gatal pulaakkkk.Hahah.. But all in all,it was a good experience. Owh did I mention that I manage to accidentally insult this Datuk who owns a business in Labuan? Somebody please hand me a copy of Socialize like A Socialite for Dummies.

happy family of Petrosains. How I miss the good old times. The dude yg paling kanan is my supercool ex-boss!

me, him, faiz and farah - happy faces

goofing around

And not forgetting, bob-bon's Birthday! Happy Birthday Zaza! I hope you enjoy the surprise birthday cake and the cupcake.Tehee...

bon-bon, yana, rambut helmet, pasangan gigi (read all the pet names fondly.hehe)

cupcake untuk zaza. nyum nyum

chocolate mousse : the way to de-stress

okay. The Apartment. Been there twice.I must say the concept of having an eatery with household equipments and deco is quite nice. And relaxing.Eating a nice plate of pavlova while having shower nozels creatively sticking out from the wall is enjoyable. It's like you are eating in a shower but you are not. Hehe. The first time i went there was with Shelly and second was with ma' pipeys! The chocolate mousse, i tell you, is sooo very the sinful.Once you pop, you cant stop kinda thing.Hehe.Highly recommended for those who are PMS-ing or if you're having a really really bad day.

the girls posing for mr.raf's super cool phone (konon2 nya).btw, adults yg pakai braces, cute okk *wink wink*

abg rambut pacak :p, ainal & wifey

All in all, the food variety is not interesting enough.I tried the chicken n mushroom pasta in which we requested for the chef to ommit the white wine sauce (of course laa kan). It was awful.Really really tasteles pasta i have ever tasted. We even had to request for chilli sauce. It was like a dish made for Britney Spears on a strict diet regime, 10 days countdown towards the Grammy Awards' red carpet.Yeah that bad.So people, DO NOT order this.Unless you have got only 1 week left to squeeze in that little black dress.Hehe.But do try the Big Fish dish (like everyone else, Raf's meal was made to be pau-ed by us). It's yummy. Fish covered with cheese (i think) with grilled potatoes. Talking about food has made me hungry already. And it's only 9.08 am in the morning.Sheesshh..

So what are you guys having for lunch today?

what's sharper than a knife?

Mean and harsh, harsh words told by your loved ones - parents, siblings, best friends and of course your other half.Because what they said, matters. How far could someone go in saying things that hurt your feelings? More importantly, how could they even have the heart to say that to you, when you least expected it? I dont know. I wish I have the answers. And to what extent could you measure someone to be disrespectful towards you?Is voicing out your thoughts when you feel something is not right somewhere, considered as disrespectful? While at the same time, they were speaking up their thoughts about you frankly, without the least feeling of humanity. Pendek kata, mengapa dia boleh mengatakan sesuatu yang tidak enak di dengar mengenai diri kita kepada kita, tanpa secebis rasa kesal dan pada masa yg sama, apabila kita melakukan perkara yang sama, we were judged, lashed out at, verbally tortured and emotionally tormented? Can we call them disrespectful then? At times, in a way,i do think that because we are women, we were expected to just give in and behave more like a woman who have no say in everything. How sad.And just because they are guys, they can act like pigs they own the world? (Didnt apply to all though)

I reckon they didnt realize that when they say things that hurt my feelings, they also brought down my self-esteem & confidence to a level, where I felt immensely hurt, emotionally thrashed and didn't even know whether can I trust that person again.

And I am not sure whether I can ever forgive that person who officially has stripped me off from feeling happy.

Sunburst Music Festival 2008

It started off with countless obstacles that nearly pushed me on the edge of not going. I was THAT close, believe me. Battles in searching for the perfect outfit that went astray, intimidating reminders of PPA that was yet to be completed, failure in finding a place to crash after the concert, my favourite stripey Converse Argentina World Cup 2006 Limited Edition sneakers that went missing in action (it was crucial for the concert), persuading & convincing my mom that I’ll be out until 2-ish in the morning, mother-daughter quarrels on silly stuff that drove me crazy and most importantly, appearance of zits on my face just the day before the big day (which I took as a bad omen in any big day or events that were to take place. Ini mmg stress tahap dewa okkkk. Why oh whyyyy??..). But lucky me, he was taking the responsibility of distracting me form those petty but were stubbornly-getting-on-my-nerves things, like a pro. Hehe.

Ok back to the real deal. When we arrived, there were many cars parked along the highway. Ah excited! Seeing many people heading towards the main entrance. Beratur jap kat luar since entrance was not yet open, panas Tuhan saja yg tau. While waiting, we munched on some yummy cucuk2 from a pakcik. Tengah syok makan2, tibe2, the vocalist of the famous band, Hujan passed by us. We looked at each other and “Jom amik gambar dgn dia!”. Belum sempat nak proceed with any action, the pakcik who was selling the cucuk2 blurted “Haa.. Hujan, Hujan.. Meh, meh. Pilih2 mana nak”. While patting the vocalist’s back. Hahahah.. Pakcik jual cucuk2 pun tahu band Hujan ok. I bet mesti dia nak tergelak kena sapa mcm tu. Kelaka gile. It was so spontaneous and hilarious.

Once we were inside, I was so ecstatic seeing all the tents selling food, beverages and merchandises, grand stages and many music lovers scattered everywhere. We were there early since he did not wanna miss out seeing Y2K performed. I think they were pretty cool since they won Blast Off. With cool mask-wearing image and energetic performance (lihat sahaja vocalist dia yg berperut gendut itu. Menyanyi sambil melompat2 tanpa jemu. Impressive. But the noticeable, moving tummy was a bit distracting laa. Maafkan saya ye. Tetapi anda memang hebat). I must admit I could understand why they managed to get into top 10 of World Finals Global Battle of the Bands, though their music want not the kind that I usually listen to. There was this one girl in the band (I bet she was very young & pretty judging from her figure and nice long hair underneath that mask), probably their sidekick vocalist, who did not sing much throughout the performance. Ala-ala back-up gitu laa kan. Once in a while when her voice could be heard over the loud booming music, it was a good voice. Sweet. Tapiii… while the band performed a harder rock version (it was really hard to the core but good) of Rihanna’s Umbrella, there was this part when the girl belted out “Under my umbrella..” (ella, ella, eh, eh..), oh her voice was…… ganassss.. How do I describe it eh? Aku terkejut. So was the audience. I looked at him and he looked and we were like..macam whaaa’?.. haha.. just didn’t expect it coming from that girl.

Ok, to cut the story short, we watched performances from Atilia, Najwa, Gerhana Ska Cinta, Pop Shuvit and Gigi. Not much to comment on other than good performances from them all. I was pretty excited to see Najwa. Ok I admit, it was the name. Hehe. But she was quite entertaining on the keyboard. Cume audiences tak berapa ramai that time. Hujan (not the band) laa pulak kan tibe2 time Pop Shuvit performed. If not I’d be joining the crowd in the mosh pit dah *insert note of exegerration here*. Their songs were awesome and very adrenaline-pumping & and the crowd just loooooved it. They just made you wanna jump and bang your head to their songs. Good interaction with the audience as well. Owh while waiting for the next performance, we spotted Hujan vocalist doing some tap dancing with his gf, I presumed, near the stage area. Comelll je. Hehe. So, we made a move and headed towards him to take some pictures. He turned out to be a very very good sport! Laid-back, funny and outgoing. Kelakar gile time nak amik gamba tuh. Kitorang ni mmg selamba laa kan. Dia pun boleh tahan gak loyar buruk. Kelakar. Haha.

Hujan!(the band) Well oh well what can I say about this band. It was raining quite heavily when Hujan started to perform. We waited under the tent feeling very stressed out coz we really wanted to watch Hujan. Dah la starving like hell. Luckily, just before they performed Pagi Yang Gelap, the heavy rain stopped. It only drizzled. Not to miss our fave song, we gambled and ran towards the stage to join the already drenched crowd. It was awesoooommmmeee. Could not be described words. Aahh.. not only tht, during singing & jumping around, I finally managed to see his eyebrows and a bit of forehead (that i as really curious about previously) that were covered by his trademark of hair style. Hehe. Anyways, Hujan, you rock my socks!

Then, after Maghrib prayer, a change of dry clothes we rushed to see Reza Salleh. While waiting and watching Tempered Mental on stage, he spotted Reza Salleh passing by us heading to the stage to get ready. “Eh babe, Reza Salleh laa!”

Him: Reza Salleh right? We’ve been following you since Rock The World man!

Reza Salleh: Oh really? (Pause for a while). Ooo.. You guys came to the booth right? (referring to the booth where he distributed Junk mags during Rock The World). I remember you guys!

Me: (giggling like mad coz I was feeling soooooooooo over the moon that Reza Salleh remembers us! REZA SALLEH REMEMBERS US!! It has been 2 years okkk since the last Rock The World. It must be the tudung laa I tell you. It just made me noticeable out of the hundreds people that were there. Ehehe..).

Him: (grinning from ear to ear)

Reza Salleh: oh btw, what’s your name?

Him: I’m Sharil

Reza Salleh: and you are..?

Me: Najwa

Reza Salleh: Owh Najwa. (I swear he looked a bit surprised when finding out my name. Maybe nama sama dgn the performer Najwa kot? Oh well, whatever the reason was, who cares when you were having a real conversation with your fave singer that remembered you!)

(he shook hands with Reza Salleh and made some small talks)

Him: can we have a picture with you?

Reza Salleh: of course!

So people, pictures as follows. I made a vow that by hook or by crook, I’ll go to the Laundry Bar if Reza Salleh is performing. Ngeee..

Incubus. Now don't get me started with this one. Absolutely mind blowinggggggg. Enough said.

Ok people, let the pictures do the rest of the talking.
